The other downloader tools that I've sampled - particularly those branded for use on video - have all been quite limited, empty promise if not outright junk. (The latter two programs deserve to be included and reviewed here on VH !) I'm not an IDM user Ant Downloader showed some merit, but had some issues I objected to. They will all have different lists of supported websites, so I'm shuttling between these. Allavsoft Video Downloader is starting to look like the category runner-up, followed by Fast Video Downloader from FastPCTools.

TubeDigger remains king of the hill in this category, with very favorable pricing and license terms the likes of which you'll be hard-pressed to find for most other software.

I wouldn't find it at all needed, in any case. This, and the general reports on Fab company behavior did not induce me to revisit subsequent versions of this software. The program installed but never loaded or ran in a satisfactory manner on my systems. Version listed was approximate, circa a few years ago, no longer recall the exact details.

Is rtmpe changing the game again and the free programs are having a tougher time catching up to it? (I would be tempted to do a payware program up to about 50.00 usd - fyi I do have tunebite 7 but I don't think it does direct rtmpe download just screen recording which I want to save as a last resort).įYI I did update to the newest version of the program and I still get the same issue.Īlso on a side note would running two instances of streamtransport effectively double your downloading power? Or would it simply slow down to a crawl? (I have cable internet fyi). But if it x's out the download and doesn't attempt to redownload it I don't get anything. This is annoying since I just want to set up a batch download and let it go overnight.

The worst part is when it bombs out it just x's out the download file and stops retrying the download. I don't want to mention the site I'm using with it but there have been more misses than hits. Streamtransport has been very good but it is very sporadic lately. I've been using streamtransport to download a few sets of videos that I want off the net. Is there a more consistent program for downloading from rtmpe sites than streamtransport? I was going to start a new thread but this seems appropriate.
